The SDFBI is led by the following organisations (click on the logo to go to their websites)

      Game and Wildlife Conservation Trust

We are a leading UK charity conducting conservation science to enhance the British countryside for public benefit. For over 80 years we have been researching and developing game and wildlife management techniques. We use our research to provide training and advice on how best to improve the biodiversity of the countryside.

      Natural England

Natural England is the government’s advisor on the natural environment. We provide practical advice, grounded in science, on how best to safeguard England’s natural wealth for the benefit of everyone.

Royal Society for the Protection of Birds

The RSPB is the country’s largest nature conservation charity, inspiring everyone to give nature a home. Together with our partners, we protect threatened birds and wildlife so our towns and countryside will teem with life once more.

      South Downs Land Managers

South Downs Land Managers is an independent association of people involved with the land in the South Downs National Park:  local farmers foresters and landowners, and the employees agents and professionals who work with them.  NFU and CLA are our principal partner organisations.

      South Downs National Park Authority

The South Downs National Park Authority (SDNPA) is the organisation responsible for promoting the purposes of the National Park and the interests of the people who live and work within it.

Each of these organisations is represented on the steering group, whose purpose is to drive the South Downs Farmland Bird Initiative forward, providing a coordinated and strategic approach to the delivery of advice, projects and monitoring across the Downs.
